Connect an integration
Integrations let Vamu read evidence from your tools and run automated compliance tests against them.
Where: Dashboard → Automation → Integrations, or open Integrations.
Who: connecting, editing and disconnecting integrations is for admins. Members can see the integrations and their tests.
Connect
- Open Integrations. The Available tab lists everything you can connect; use the categories to narrow the list.
- Optional: click Preview tests on a card to see which automated tests the integration runs.
- Click Connect on the integration's card.
- Depending on the integration, either:
- fill in the Integration Credentials (API keys, tokens or a credentials file) and click Validate or Submit, or
- click Grant Vamu Access and approve the access in the provider's window. Allow pop-ups for Vamu if nothing opens.
- When it succeeds you'll see "Integration Connected Successfully!" and the card moves to the Connected tab.
The connect dialog links to the step-by-step guide for that provider (how to create the keys Vamu needs). The same guides are listed on the documentation home page.
After connecting
- Vamu scans the integration; the card shows Scanning in progress until the first scan finishes.
- Click View tests to see the integration's automated tests and their results.
- Click Manage to open Manage Integration accounts, where you can:
- Add new account (when the integration supports more than one),
- Edit an account's name or settings,
- change Scopes: choose which resources are in scope,
- Deactivate or Activate an account,
- Disconnect the integration (in the Danger Zone).
Troubleshooting
| Message or symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| "We couldn't open the authorization window…" | Allow pop-ups for the Vamu site and click Grant Vamu Access again. |
| "Authorization timed out. Please try again." | Restart the connection and finish the provider's approval within a few minutes. |
| "Looks like this integration only allows one account…" | Disconnect the current account before connecting a different one. |
| The integration you need isn't listed. | Click We can help on the Integrations page to tell us. |
